PROTECT YOUR SKIN FROM BLUE LIGHT WITH BLUE TECHNI LISS BY PAYOT
As you know from previous posts, Payot is a luxury brand that is among my favorites. My mother has been using it for years and soon her products became commonplace. I recently had the chance to try out their latest line, Blue Techni Liss, which is all about protecting our skin from the effects of blue light technology. Let's see how it worked for me.
Although more research needs to be done on the harmful effects of blue light on our skin, protection against it is something that more and more brands are beginning to apply to their products. First of all, we are going to analyze what blue light is. Blue or Violet light has a low visible light spectrum, which means it has a shorter wavelength but produces much more energy. Why do we need protection against it? Just when you thought it was safer to stay indoors to avoid the harmful effects of the sun, it turns out that our smartphones, wearable devices, televisions, light bulbs, and computer screens emit blue light that is harmful to our skin and eyes. The large amount of time we spend wearing these devices and the close proximity when using them is a cause for concern, as it generates free radicals that can cause collagen to break down, accelerating the premature aging process. Research has shown that it can also cause pigmentation, especially on darker skin. However, research is still ongoing, so for now we shouldn't lose any sleep over whether my phone is aging me. This is where the Payot Blue Techni Liss line comes into play. With a skin care line rich in antioxidants, it helps our skin to combat the effects of blue light. The Blue Techni Liss range presents a line of products to help combat the damaging effects of blue light, which occur when our skin has also spent a lot of time in front of the screen and not enough exposed to natural light and lack of sleep. Within the formulation it contains a blue light shield that is said to help combat the effects of environmental aggression during the day and also at night. Products in this beauty line come with actives including: Blue Chaste Tree Berry, Lindera Aggregata Extract, soothing Marrubium Vulgare Extract (Horehound) which is also a blue light shield and hyaluronic acid moisturizer. Thanks to a box that they have developed, I have been able to test the day cream and the serum, and soon I will also start testing the eye contour that also comes in the case. The Jour day cream, which is the one I have tried the most, comes with added hibiscus oligopeptide peptide, which was found to provide many skin benefits. It has a velvety, melting texture that leaves skin with a lovely glow and provides extra richness throughout the day without leaving skin feeling greasy. My only drawback is that the bottle does not come with a spatula, since being a thick gel it would be more comfortable to apply. As I said before, the day cream has a very interesting ingredient called hibiscus oligopeptide. It has been claimed to work similar to Botox in that it can tighten and firm the appearance of fine lines. It also has anti-inflammatory properties to help soothe the skin and is rich in antioxidants to help fight free radicals, which is what protects us from blue light. The Serum Concentré provides a daily boost of three sources of hyaluronic acid in a lightly scented, fresh melting gel that instantly absorbs and leaves my skin hydrated. These products are suitable for all skin types. My general impressions of both products are very very good. The protection against blue light is not something that can be seen with the naked eye, but the combination of ingredients seems very adequate to fulfill its objective. I recommend trying this product with the same case as me, which as I said includes Payot Blue Techni Liss Day Cream 50ml + Eye Contour 15ml + Concentrate 30ml + Bag.
